A recent research shows that girls given imitation babies are more likely to get pregnant.
This is a part of a study to deter teenage pregnancy, and the Australian researchers found out that 8% of the girls who used the dolls were expecting by the age of 20, while 4% of those who did not.
Sadly, the number of girls having at least one abortion was also higher. 9% compared to 6% of girls who were given the dolls.
The so-called "Baby Think It Over" dolls were used in a Virtual Infant Parenting (VIP) programme in Western Australia in 57 schools in 2003.
