Atom Araullo Resigns as News Reporter from ABS- CBN

Atom Araullo, a news reporter from ABS-CBN who has became more famous during his coverage during the storm surge in Tacloban brought by typhoon Yolanda resigned from his duties in TV Patrol, Bandila and ANC last August 27, 2016.

Netizens have different theories about his act. Some people said that Atom resigned because he did not want to be called a biased reporter. This was followed after he openly expressed his opinion towards the burial of former President Ferdinand  Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

However, Ging Reyes, head of ABS CBN News and Current Affairs already released a statement.

“Atom Araullo had filed his resignation from his reportorial duties but will remain an on camera talent of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs as an anchor in Umagang Kay Ganda and Red Alert. He said he arrived at this decision to be able to pursue other endeavors that would also help him grow as a journalist and as a host. He is aware that the news organization has included him in its future plans and will continue to assign him stories, coverage and events, befitting his position as a journalist.”

Atom, however has not yet released a statement about the issue.
